A quiet, attentive approach to bodywork—guided by the horse and shaped through years of practice.
Karen Katzmark is a Holistic Health Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in therapeutic massage, bodywork, and hands-on work with horses.
Her work has developed over time through teaching, clinical practice, and years spent learning to slow down and listen more closely to both people and horses. As a full-time massage instructor within an 800-hour training program, she supports students in developing not only technical skill, but a steady and thoughtful way of working.
Across these roles, her approach emphasizes skilled touch, clear observation, and respect for the nervous system—human and equine. She values presence, pacing, and work that allows space for the body to respond rather than pushing for change.
Karen is a Board Certified Massage Therapist (BCTMB) and a Certified Massage Therapist through the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC). She is also a certified Masterson Method® Equine Specialist.
Her background includes training in equine-assisted learning, with continued study through the OK Corral Series with Greg Kersten, founder of EAGALA, along with ongoing study in equine bodywork and complementary approaches.
Her equine work reflects a commitment to listening first, working within appropriate scope, and meeting each horse through a calm, attentive, and responsive process guided by the horse’s own responses.
